What is quarterly pest control?

Quarterly pest control means we treat your home once every three months (four times per year) to prevent pests before they become a problem. Each visit includes exterior treatment around the foundation, entry points, and common pest areas. This creates a protective barrier that stops pests from getting inside.

How much does quarterly pest control cost in San Antonio?

Most homes run $99-$150 per quarterly visit, depending on the size of your property and the level of treatment needed. That works out to roughly $400-$600 per year for complete pest protection. We don’t require contracts, so you’re never locked in.

Does Rat King require a contract for quarterly service?

No. We don’t do contracts or auto-billing. We call before each quarterly visit to confirm you still want service. If you do, great. If not, no problem. You’re never locked in or charged without permission. This is the biggest difference between us and bigger pest control companies.

What pests does quarterly service cover?

Quarterly service covers all common San Antonio pests including ants, cockroaches, spiders, scorpions, crickets, and outdoor rodent prevention. It does NOT typically cover bed bugs, termites, or severe rodent infestations inside the home (those need specialized treatment). But it prevents 90% of pest problems you’d normally deal with.

Why is quarterly service necessary in San Antonio year-round?

San Antonio’s warm climate means pests never go dormant. Up north, pest pressure drops in winter. Here, rodents, roaches, and ants stay active 365 days. Quarterly service (every 3 months) keeps the protective barrier fresh year-round, which is what it takes to stay ahead of San Antonio’s pest pressure.

What happens during each quarterly visit?

Roger inspects your property for signs of pest activity, treats the exterior foundation and entry points, refreshes bait stations if needed, and checks for new problem areas. We also treat inside the home and the eaves. Each visit takes 30-45 minutes. We treat outside so you don’t have to be home if you don’t want to be.

Can I skip a quarterly visit if I’m not seeing pests?

You can, but we don’t recommend it. The reason you’re not seeing pests is because the quarterly barrier is working. Skip a visit and that barrier breaks down, which lets pests back in. It’s like skipping oil changes because your car runs fine. Prevention is always cheaper than fixing a problem after it starts.

How is quarterly service different from one-time treatment?

One-time treatment solves the current problem. Quarterly service prevents future problems. Think of it like this: one-time is fixing a leak after your house floods. Quarterly is maintaining your roof so the leak never happens. In San Antonio’s climate, ongoing prevention is the only way to stay pest-free long-term.

Do I need to be home for quarterly service visits?

That’s up to you. Most quarterly visits are interior and exterior. If you want exterior only, you don’t need to be home. We call ahead to confirm the appointment, treat the interitor and exterior of your home, and leave a service report. If we notice anything that needs your attention, we’ll let you know.

What if I see pests between quarterly visits?

Call us. If pests show up between scheduled visits, we’ll come back out and retreat at no additional charge (as long as you’re on quarterly service). This is part of the ongoing protection. The goal is to keep your home pest-free, and if something breaks through, we’ll handle it.
